Kings City Author Talk - Lane Dyer

Join us May 7th at 6PM as award-winning author Lane Harrison Dyer discusses his book, "The Tory Oak, Colonel Benjamin Cleveland and the American Revolution" 

 

Dyer is the winner of the North Carolina Society of Historians’ 2024 Lighthouse Award for Journalism in recognition of his work preserving North Carolina history, along with multiple Awards of Excellence for Journalism and Historical Fiction.
He grew up in Wilkes County in the 1960’s and 1970’s. He served in the U.S. Air Force, later returning home and graduating from Appalachian State University. 
Dyer spent over thirty years in public service, overseeing state and federal programs that aid veterans and other North Carolinians in finding employment. He resides in Winston-Salem with his wife of over 40 years and is a columnist for The Wilkes Record news site.
