Part of our Mission

KMHM exhibits and preserves a wide-ranging artifact collection showcasing the unique history and cultural identity of Kings Mountain and the surrounding region.  Historical collections include textiles, archival documents and photographs, military memorabilia, housewares, and many other artifact types that represent the material heritage of the North Carolina Piedmont region.

At the Museum:

DIGITAL NC

The North Carolina Digital Heritage Center is a statewide digitization and digital publishing program housed in the North Carolina Collection at UNC's Wilson Special Collections Library. The Digital Heritage Center works with cultural heritage institutions across North Carolina to digitize and publish historic materials online. Both Kings Mountain Historical Museum and Mauney Memorial Library have many primary resources from Kings Mountain's past available here.
