The Kings Mountain Historical Museum will collect, preserve, and interpret history through exhibits, educational programs, tours, and other appropriate means, in order to foster a deeper understanding of the history of our community and the region.
“KMHM is such an asset to Kings Mountain. Few small towns have their own historical museum to exhibit and tell their own specific local history. We truly are lucky to have such a gem in our town! The staff and volunteers draw from items that have been donated to the museum and borrow from the citizens of Kings Mountain to enhance the terrific exhibits throughout the year. The team puts in a lot of time researching information for each exhibit. I encourage everyone to become a member of the Museum to help support these exhibits and enjoy the members-only events.”

OUR STORY
Begun by a collecting group of dedicated citizens, our museum found a home in Kings Mountain’s old post office. Today our collection includes a wide range of archives and objects related to our city and the people who have called it home. With changing exhibits, there is always something new to see, and special events often mean opening up our two historic houses behind the Post Office. We are dedicated to providing free access to this city’s unique history.
