



Step into the world of Colonial America and explore North Carolina’s role in the American Revolution with our Revolutionary War Traveling Trunk. Designed for ages 8 to 13, this trunk includes lesson materials, activities, worksheets, and reproduction historical objects that help students experience what life was like before and during the Revolution.
Students will explore Colonial Life, including life on a farm, the yeoman cabin, farm chores, colonial toys, and the early American schoolhouse.
The trunk also introduces students to the American Revolution, covering the war’s general history, important historical figures & vocabulary, political differences between Patriots and Loyalists, and the thirteen colonies. They will discover North Carolina’s path to independence through the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, Tryon Resolves, and Halifax Resolves.
